Dr. Solveiga Palionis,
Director of Music and Liturgy
I am very excited to begin my ministry at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish family! Ministry is not only my passion but my lifestyle as well. I bring an extensive experience, knowledge and passion for our Roman Catholic Liturgy and Sacred Music. Prior coming to St Andrew’s, I have served in the capacity of a Director of Music and Liturgy, Bereavement Coordinator, and Choir Director in the Diocese of Joliet, Rockford, Michigan, and Chicago Archdiocese.
Music has always been a vital part of my life. It has a beautiful way of making God’s word remain in our hearts. The Catechism of the Catholic Church, in its section on liturgical music, quotes the famous expression of St. Augustine: “He who sings prays twice.” As I worshiped with my brothers and sisters at St Andrew’s last Sunday, I witnessed how much our faith-filled family loves to sing. I am so looking forward to creating new relationships and experiences at St Andrew’s.
